In this week’s episode of The Rowdy Alternative, Sam Burgh sits down with singer-songwriter Zach Russell for a candid conversation about creativity, authenticity, and carving out a unique path in today’s music world. Zach shares how leaving Nashville reignited his inspiration, leading him to embrace the natural beauty of Appalachia and reconnect with his roots in gospel, bluegrass, and hymns. The two discuss Zach’s evolving relationship with the Americana label, his reflective songwriting process, and his thoughts on standing out in a trend-driven industry. Zach also gives a preview of his upcoming single, “Who Will Sing For Me,” and what it means to breathe life into a song—even one he didn’t write. This episode is a thoughtful dive into the heart of artistry and the pursuit of honest, resonant music.
